"Mr. Jim Clark was my point of contact with Champion; he was courteous, professional and extremely helpful. It was a pleasure doing business with him. The members of all of the crews, water removal/drying, carpet layers and packers were courteous, professional, arrived on time, and completed work in a timely manner. In addition, they were friendly. We are very pleased with Champion's response and work and I will gladly recommend Champion to others. I will express my satisfaction with Champion to USAA." - Water Damage in Fayetteville, GA

"I have never been as impressed with a great group of young men. Very professional, efficient and knowledgeable of their line of work. Considering the age of my crew; they out-performed the middle and older aged men I have worked with in similar job requests. Thank you!!! Big kudos to Colby...loved this kid!!!" - Water Damage in Ellenwood, GA

How to Protect Vacant Homes From Vandals and Thieves

Vandalism and theft are huge problems in the Atlanta area, especially if your home is vacant. Copper plumbing, light fixtures, appliances, and HVAC systems are the most commonly targeted items. Your property can be destroyed in just a few hours. Check out these photos of damage to one Atlanta area home. The vandals did an amazing amount of damage as they ripped out electrical wires, plumbing and basically anything else they could get their hands on.

Fortunately, these thieves were caught when they went to try to sell their goods. But the damage was still done to this home.

HOW CAN YOU PROTECT YOUR HOME FROM VANDALS? HERE ARE A FEW TIPS:

INSURANCE: Make sure your insurance covers your home if it is vacant. Many times carrying a builder’s risk policy will properly cover you from vandalism and material losses.

ALARM SYSTEM: Install a security system and make sure you allow it to go off periodically so the neighbors know you have one.

SECURITY CAMERAS: Place a few real or even fake security cameras on the property and make sure it is evident that they are there. Post signs that say “Security Cameras on Premises” and place them in the yard or on windows and doors.

SECURITY LIGHTS: Use exterior halogen lights to keep the property well lit on the outside. Be sure to light the back of the house as well.

INTERIOR LIGHTS: Purchase timers that operate different exterior and interior lights at different times each day and night. Sound is just as important as light, so set up a timer to operate a radio and television at random times each day.

KEEP A CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY: Even if the car doesn't run, it is good to have one in the driveway to give the impression that someone still lives there.

PICK UP ANY MAIL LEFT: Free newspapers, phonebooks and marketing materials can be left on the doorstep and in the mailbox. Be sure to pick these up as often as possible.
