Roofing ScamNEW LAW PROTECTS YOU FROM SCAMS AFTER STORMS

Starting July 1, 2011 in Georgia, roofers cannot promise you they will waive your insurance deductible. They also can’t offer money or gifts in exchange for advertising in your yard. In addition, you now have five days to cancel an agreement, instead of three. Most reputable companies do not go door to door, informing you of roof damage to your property. It is wise to consult your insurance company, for a preferred vendor, or use someone you know and trust.

PROTECT YOUR PIPES THIS WINTER

Georgia's usually warm climate often under-insulated buildings make frozen pipes a common problem. Pipes that freeze most frequently are water sprinkler lines and water supply pipes in unheated interior areas like basements and crawl spaces, attics, garages, or cabinets. In addition, pipes that run against exterior walls that have little or no insulation are also subject to freezing. The following tips can help you keep your home safe this winter season.

UPDATE: Well the crew is finally back from Jersey and caught up with all of the estimates. We ended up being there for 2 weeks and were able to complete 34 jobs! Mostly all of the jobs were water damaged basements from sump pump failure because the power was out during Hurricane Irene. We all worked many long, hard hours pulling out wet carpet, pad, baseboard, drywall and lots and lots of damaged contents. Even though it was really hard work, we all had a really great time. New Jersey is full of beautiful neighborhoods, really nice people and great food! We ate as many bagels and sandwiches as we could stand while we were there. We are all happy to be back down South though.
